Back online after we have been without grid power for near all of 3 days. Plenty of wind, and the rain has been endless. About 8 inches of rain this past week. Our creek is really flooding, overwhelmed the culvert under the road in front of our property and had water several inches deep on the pavement for about 100 feet. This has only happened twice before in the more than 45 years we have lived here.

The little WEN genny ran 65 hours straight, used about 2.5 gallons of fuel. It's answered every call I have asked of it, in spades. A good buy. Wood stove kept us warm, propane kitchen stovetop for cooking, buckets from the creek to flush toilets. Refrigerator/freezer and a few lights in the kitchen and living room powered from the genny. We even plugged in the laptop and watched a DVD :).

Life is good.

M took some pictures of the high water in our creek and over the road near the end of our driveway...

Underwater, just left of center of the first pic, is the 36 inch diameter culvert. A sucking whirlpool forms and dissipates every few seconds. If you got near that, it would take you down in a moment.
