What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

Left overs. There was some tritip calling me. Some asparagus needed used. Somme gravy in there.
Cooked a little piece of salmon for Katy.
Oh look. I need to eat more tri tip. Later
 
Last night was Tikka Masala. Probably more of the same tonight. Nobody tell Rajan that I made the sauce out of a jar this time. It was just as good and took almost no time by comparison.

Kaveman is not a chef.
Kaveman sent first wife to fancy culinary school.
Kaveman may have married second wife on the quality of her cooking alone...
Kaveman now has to learn to cook, or find another woman...
 
A lot of jarred sauces are good. People talk about cooking down tomatoes, and the amazing pasta sauces they make from scratch. Yea, whatever. I just dump a jar in a pot, and it's done before the pasta's finished. I like it just fine. No time, no mess.

Make a sauce from scratch?! Pffffffffffffttttttttt!!!!! Yeah, I'll take a hard pass on that. There are so many incredible pasta sauces that come in jars, like the kinds that has a four cheese blend in it. The convenience of jarred sauce is WAY MORE attractive than waiting for tomatoes to melt and buying other separate ingredients and I would need to look at some kind of recipe. Blechhhh. That would make my brain melt. So much wasted time.

I get that some people are into cooking, and that's totally respectable...but I don't understand the allure. I cook because I have to, because it saves money, because I can better customize my meals, etc. Not because I enjoy it. I do love grilling, though, and I'm extremely good at it as well. Something about a grill tickles my primitive instincts or something like that...not really sure what the psychology is behind that. Probably has something to do with the fire and flames.

Made a cream of cauliflower and chicken soup.
Basically using cauliflower pureed to make the cream, so you only need a little cream for flavor. Add chicken. Some fresh parsely and kale chopped fine.
Used the clear chicken broth from cooking the chicken in the insta pot.
Just an embellished version of my crean of cauliflower soup I would make for big Christmas dinners.
Some oyster crackers should be good on it.

Woke up with vicious nausea from my Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) and had to lay down in the shower for around 1.5 hours until my meds and edibles kicked in.

Then I was too sedated to do anything so I laid in bed for awhile.

After that, I felt pretty much felt normal, so I ordered three Cheesy Gordita Crunches from Taco Bell and now I'm nom nom nom'ing on those. Just a glimpse into how wild my disorder is. If the hot water hadn't been working, I'd surely be in the hospital right now. I worship hot water lol It works better than any med or edible could!

Love Taco Bell! This is a happy ending to a day that started out from Hell!
 
M made a big pot of split pea soup, one of the regulars around our place. But since we were out of potatoes, she used some sweet potatoes that were on hand. WOW! Really changed the flavors. I wouldn't say the recipe needs to always go this way, but to mix it up now and then seems like a fun idea.
 
I'd have to try that to see. I'm not a huge fan of sweet potato outside the traditional presentation. I'll get something with sweet potato cause it sounds interesting and good, then think "meh..." when I get it.
