Wall of Shame: Wannabe Experts

Whatever country that first one happened in, wonder if they might sell it for some beads and a keg of whiskey?

I hadn't seen this one before, but the way people are with phones these days I can see it happening.:laughing6:

Hard to watch, skip through it. I hate it when they dont end like you want.

Here is the description from youtube:
me and some freinds help a guy I know drop a tree, 8ft off his house.. No body wanted to do it so I did with a Stihl 440 mag 36in bar , and a ford ranger, nothing beats a Stihl.. this tree was 176 years old, but rotton at the top and was going to fall on his house, I think it went well tell me what you think.. This was in Lexington Kentucky .. Next door filmed the video, did pretty good. The chain was dull and my PPE was stolen the night be for. No money to get new and no place open to get it so get up and shut up do your job and go to the next one..

Maybe being picky, but pulling with a light truck, especially on grass, seems a bit iffy to me in that situation. That rear limb has weight. I couldn't much see the back opening up, and the light hammer was novel. Luck was in their favor , and maybe some lean? They were happy, so a nice ending....

Yo, before I woulda pulled it over I definitely would have removed that back lead, for sure.

I was just saying he did what he said he'd do, no damage. Why is that vid in this thread? No shame was involved.

:drink:

Goats, Sheep, they all smell the same. As far as I've been told( I've got no sense of smell).

Do you wear high boots or low boots or are they high boots turned down low?

If that looked unprofessional to you, Nick, you must be one experienced treefaller.

To me it looked fine, apart from a dull saw. The tree was not unreasonably unbalanced as far as one could tell from the footage, so a pickup truck backed up by wedges seemed a reasonable way to go about it.
They made the cut high enough to be sure of straight fibers and a nice level face and back cut.

How did you want it to end, and why did you put it in this category?
If this belongs on the wall of shame, most of us had better hang up our saws and become accountants or something!

I dunno, that jumping around after like a bunch of monkeys didn't seem very professional to me, it's just another tree. I must have a more subdued personality, along with my friends and associates.

I understand that monkey jumping. I don't get to fell too many whole trees..usually just pieces at a time. When a big one goes where I want it I have been known to celebrate a bit...at least in my younger days. Now I know to just act like it's no big deal...but there is still a bit of internal "hoorah" when a big one bites the dust.:)

Those one are in the right place I think.

No damage, but by luck.

brute force doesn't do well with brittle wood (more rotten than brittle, though)
