Has anybody had experience with tire chains on a mini? I just attempted to do a little snow removal with my new(to me) wheeled Boxer. It is ok on flat ground, but next to useless on much of a slope. Obviously it wasn't purchased for this and I am not too worried about it but it would be nice to use it once in a while if need be.

I don't see much room for chains on the inside of the tire.

I made up a set of chains to put on the back of my Thomas, made them as tight as I could, used a three ft. bar to lock them even. I threw them off before I even got it on the trailer!
I'd look at the AG tires, or just spend some more time on it, once I got used to my machine, learning what and how to do things, I can do snow removal on steep drives with no problems now, it's just figuring out how to use the machine.

Yeah it is just time I know. We got some heavy wet snow this weekend and I have a moderately sloped drive that is wood chips. Therein lies the problem. Nothing is frozen and it is sticky. I think a new drive is in order next spring or summer as five yrs of this is enough.

I ran chains on my Dingo for a brief period.....

Yeah due to almost zero inside clearance, it can be difficult to fit them. I ended up putting longer wheel studs on so I could "space out" the wheels about 3/4 inch. This gave just enough clearance for the chains to fit. I should mention I only ran chains on the front of the machine. It gave enough additional grab to improve traction in the snow.

Well after things froze up a little more I didn't have half the trouble. I will be switching over to turf tires here come spring and I figure that will put an end to any snow removal at all. Any suggestions? I am thinking something in the Carlisle line but honestly don't have any experience with turf tires.

Buy cheap ones! Carl had a line on some a while back, maybe he can hook you up? I found some local for $30 each a couple of years ago. I say cheap because if you use it a lot on hard surfaces they wear rather quickly.
