There is a way to set up the GRCS or HOBBS on small wood, but you have to add wood. You screw some 2x4 around the tree. Then mount the devise onto the wood. All you are doing is adding circumference.

well you might want to use a small tree to mount your ld because it‘s position is more comfortable to rig off of. to take down a larger tree..
