The Tree Spyder

I considered myself heavily into treework, eat breathe sleep treework, when I found TBuzz. There I encountered Kenny's posts and I was like, damn, there are people out there way more into it than me!?! It's a shame car wrecks cut his career short.

And its interesting that these websites have been around so long that we get to know many members well over the years, and then some may later transition out of regular or any visits due to changes in their lives, and the other members of the virtual community can share their thoughts on him, same as we would in our actual circles in everyday life. Maybe that is so basic that it's wacky to reflect on here, but I think its kind of interesting, a small example of how computers have changed our lives in the last 10 yrs or so.

Kenny was a great guy. I didn't know he had another accident, that must have really screwed him up. Shame we cant all send him some well wishes, let him know we all miss him.

Not that I can see.

I miss KC, too.

I remember he was doing prolotherapy, with mixed results. It was a series of horribly painful shots. Didn't sound like fun.

I saw Kenny a year or so ago; yes he was with the same nice lady and yes working with computers, helpin folks out. The back pain was hard on him but leaving treees probly harder.

I hope to see him next month in FL; I'll tell him yall said hey.

His posts did not make my eyes squint, but they made my mind squint.

Which is good exercise really.

That would be great, Guy. Ask him to drop in, his old friends would like to be confused by his posting again :D.

Vintage spydey

I stumbled upon one of his posts when i was about 22 and I remember thinking, "I didnt know a tree worker could be this smart....?"

I've been printing a knot book PDF he let me download from him years back and got me wondering where he could be. He was a good guy to have around for sure.

Hey Ryan,

What is the name of that file? He sent me a huge file years back also, and I cannot seem to find it

John, Ashely book of knots? Life on a line 1st or 2nd edition? I have all three of those in a folder on the hard drive, I dont remember the source but I do remember downloading something from his site at one point that was pretty substantial in size.

Anybody got a copy of his illustrations of block-and-tackle setups? He posted a link to it (which I bookmarked) but it's no longer valid. He showed how to piggyback two B&T systems to gain phenomenal lift/pull capacity. It was rather interesting.

John, I have the same one's as Paul. Ashley Book of Knots and the Life on a Line with 2 or 3 parts. After $70 of ink I printed, hole punched and bindered ABOK. I find it extremely interesting and I want to tie every knot as I read about it but can't see the wife and kids letting me sit at the kitchen table with a hank of rope uninterrupted for very long.

I always joked with Kenny and said he should have been born about 150 years ago and been a boatswain's mate on a square rigger .
