The Official Work Pictures Thread

X2 keeping the rad clean on a forestry unit is an ongoing battle. I've been amazed a couple of times over the years how strong those cab guards actually are. Oopsy.

Nothing special, just finishing of the work on the dam, got very wet, did it on time but to glad to be out of there.

Look like a logging job, almost.
Hope you made some good money doing that.

I did ok, I was talking with the lad in the van about making money on jobs like this in comparison to trimming two birch for a couple of neigbours.
On this job a bull rope got shortened by three meters, a good forestry chain was lost (mine) and the handle of a 201 got smashed. Some pretty risky climbing and Hail Mary falling as well.
It's hard to keep relaxed and tidy when you're chasing the clock in the pissing rain.
Would've been good to have a "forestier pur et dur" to show me the technical stuff.

Don't want to blow my horn, but if the job is big enough to make the drive worth while, give me a call.
I'm not that much of a climber, but logging I know inside out.
Be fun to work in France.

Yea that tree is going to ruin my whole week. Boss wants all limb logs full length up to 40 foot. And he has added another big hard maple on one neighbors yard and a dead Hickory on the other

Yup and he wanted me to head up north on a 4 hour drive to go logging Friday after work. I won't be leaving till Monday morning and I may not work Friday at all since I have other things to do. After all its bad luck to work on your birthday isn't it

Looks like a fun one. Is your boss firewood hungry? 40 foot limb wood is a pain to stack on a log truck. To many bends. Good luck.

Big co-dom red oak removal today. The bucket helped till about ten this morning. We didn't get started till nine because of the yellow jackets we pissed off first thing. I think the spray just makes them angrier. I had to climb anyhow but we decided to rope everything to the driveway side. It was tiring dragging lines all around the tree. Took some pretty big pieces though. Really did well for the tightish drop zone. Groundies got some action shots but haven't sent them to me yet. We have to get the spar down tomorrow and remove another red oak on the other side of the garage. Little bit more room to work there. Also have a tall leaning cherry to remove. That's the easy one.

Exactly how much do you love a brandy new 75' bucket, even if you dint use it much on that tree??

Don't know yet Cory. It's being inspected by another company. We suspect the dealer just signed the paperwork or owns a third party inspection company. We found a few flaws and checked the paperwork that said it passed. Minor stuff but still shouldn't of been released to us. Like I said before, they are used car dealers, just bigger cars

Oh ok, I thought it was new. But as long as it is good working order, it should be a mean machine for you:thumbup:

Here is one Mike took apart today. We lined it down from off a hill onto a road, topped it and then felled the rotten bugger between two trees.
36 DBH. Had a missing marm, made another from another limb below it. Trunk all twisted from there on up. I figure lightening blew out the one marm and the other lead had damage. Big ol ant nest in the middle. All went well though.
Fodder.
