Was a good day.

Frank's wife joined us, and that's always nice. That woman could out work many men that I know. She rakes like the mess offends her, and she keeps the tidiest burn piles, bar none. Also, she is a crafty type, and I bought several knitted stuffies for my daughters from her. She also repairs a lot of Stephen's gear. Oh, and she makes the best throw balls money can buy.

Kinda of fun at one point of the day for me. I ran up one of the lines I had set yesterday to take some brush and a hung limb off just below Kavey. Could damn near shake hands from two different trees. I have blocks and climb lines hung in 4 cedars surrounding the trees being removed. Cedars are staying but providing other rigging points down the log as wellas work positioning.

Climbed two declining madrones, one a see-through butt with a pogtail trunk.

Once the last piece of brush was off, without anything to dampen the vibration, it was like standing on a wiggly spring/ thick jello. Very, very weird.

All was okay enough until I was at the top with the the leads at the topping point. The wind started blowing and trees swaying, so I free-dropped a hard-leaning lead. Miriam said she was surprised how much the trunk moved over sideways at rest, after that piece was off.

Not sure. I don’t use the wrench enough to really know. I’ve got at least three wrenches and probably five different tethers. I just didn’t feel like digging for my rope runner today.

Is that little orange light inside the cavity daylight shining in?
