Burr oak is kinda rare around me. Seems to cut faster than our other oak species. I’ve got pics somewhere of me on a monster burr cutting with a 3 foot bar at 70’. Slightly over 8 foot lengths was all we could give the mill.

Lots of bur up here and some biggins at that. The crane gig was a bur. Unofficial age is 183 and the last foot and half is easy 100 years, but I want to take a router to it and polish an area so I can get a better count.

Well I only put $1700 on the tree.I misheard the client and beleived they wanted to keep the chip and wood. Which would have ment that I just needed to drive the tractor to the site and would have had an easy day. Instead it was two loads of logs and a load of chip,they kept the chip at another location on site but it all added another day to the job.Um, you haven't heard what the job was priced at. Turns out the rake eliminated what was left of the profit margin
I did have the idea of $3500 for the tree in my head but for some reason I halved it? Freudian Quote.
I can't ever remember having anyone steal a Rake before either,I left it stuck into the ground in order to not run over it with the tractor.

Oak prune from yesterday. Just deadwood and some sucker growth. I did do a bit of end weight reduction where it was needed as well. Nice easy climb

Today was a pretty busy day. First, in the morning, I cut down 4 trees in the center of St. Petersburg, and then went out of town for a distance of 80 km and cut down 9 trees there. From dawn to dusk!
