Working in a Homeowners'Association neighborhood greenbelt.
The homeowners, a retired couple in their later years, had the tree cabled 30 years earlier.
Nothing earth-shaking.
I did have to consider what would happen with the forward-leaning trunk (into the woods) broke free at the cable, and fell onto the pull line for the backleaning leader (toward sun and house).
I installed a throwline from the ground, to install a base-tied pull-rope for the rear trunk.
Set up the faces,
shaving bark at the hinges so I could see what the wood in the hinge is doing and to clearly see how much is cut/ where the hinge is,
bore-cut on the front-leaner,
Stood up the back-leaner on wedges with a standard back-cut, chased in with wedges, cut up to the pre-planned hinge.
Maasdam rope puller was tightened by the groundman, while I kept wedges tight.
Pulled it up to over vertical.
cut the backstrap on the front trunk.
Trees went to the lay, right where the hinge steered them, as you would expect.
