Had to drop the top, power line prevented a straight fell.
Don't panic, I took the pic before I moved down to cut a chunk! I haven't done a dismantle for a while, it was fun.
Matey sitting on the chipper chute was the HO, probably 80...dragged branches like a pro.

Believe it or not he does that when he sees me with my phone out. He likes to appear lazy in pictures? He took all that brush out and chipped it in two trips with the mini.

Craned out this Chestnut oak and a few other trees yesterday to make room for an addition to the house. The contractor took alot of pics and video, so hopefully he got something better.


Tadano 75t with 170' of main boom, truck is only 22' long. Crab steering, etc. It's a dream in some of these tight, steep spots we have in the mountains. Running around 130' of boom on this setup.

Actually it didn’t Jeff. I was expecting it to though. Good to read ya Jeff.
Did a lot of running yesterday. Went to Rayco for teeth, custom one truck to get a better look at the operation( in search of someone new to inspect our booms), a big deal of a meeting with the boss ( not gonna get into details. Gonna require many more meetings and lots of thinking), visit the bank, and then got a early start on today’s job. Plan was to get done early and spend most of the day with the family. Sun was shining and I heard thunder rumble. Before I could pull the rigging and fold up all hell broke loose. As I was climbing down the ladder I noticed Jason was about two hundred feet away. I couldn’t hear with my muffs on but he heard cracking and thought the hazard tree we were working on was failing. It wasn’t but the one in front of the chip truck did. Close enough that I had to cut limbs to get the trucks out.

Basically finished the original job before we could get a committee member out to ok the clean up. Cemeteries are kind of a pain. Many of the stones were pushed over to a good lean, but not down. Saved them all. Temp was in the mid sixties which was a welcomed change from the mid 80’s. Did 10 hours and still feel great.
It was a beautiful day

Took a dead ash (1 year since the last set of leaves) down. Strapped every crotch together as I was going up and then did not go higher than 6" stems. The best feeling was when the client started burning the wood in a fire pit, it made cleaning easy.
