The Official Work Pictures Thread

Perfectly describes my demographic.

It's one of the last Wetterlings to be forged Mr. B. Thank you, and I promise I'll take good care of it.

Thanks, especially for the video, Sam. I'd rather like to own one of those, just for fun. Gonna do some searches :).

Two of four pretty decent size firs done today, blowing the chip on paths.

Long time on the spikes, knees don?t like it.

Nice work!

The HH is great for that. The HH goes on the bridge DdRT and the flip line on the side Ds. Flip both of them up at the same time, need to sit just position the HH line above the flip line, sit back and relax.

It means if I couldn’t spike up a couple of decent size trees because of an injury/wear & tear I’d figure I was past doing the job.

The worst bit is hanging a bigger saw off one’s belt on the way down, can’t do much about that.

Honestly, I don't feel much of any weight because of those, but I DO have pads over the shoulders.

I’ll see about getting some, I don’t do loads and loads of single stem conifer take downs (of a decent size) I bought some carbon fiber distels with the Velcro pads which have helped.

The tree type doesn't make a difference

There's a trade-off of one comfort over the other, but I think it's worth it.

Suspenders inhibit your bending over and such stuff, but it sure is nice hooking on your saw and not even feeling it. I've actually started a climb wearing my saw with the saddle still unbuckled.

Be sure to incorporate pads into the mix or your shoulders are gonna ache.

Able to machine feed those limbs?

Throwing a climb line a bit above you helps. My preference-steel biner with throw weight as my termination. I'm careful not to drop the weight while unclipping.

Playing doctor, I'm wondering if I haven't got a flapper in my knee like Gary and Stig discussed. Spurs gave me a pain the other day, and today.

Wind was better, so I speedlined a batch, descended, coffee break and snack, water and the like, got on my spurs, speed lined a batch, dumped a log, set a pull rope for the remaining backleaning logs tomorrow. Rigged three limbs down, too.

About 4 hours on the fir, after chipping yesterday's work, this morning. Working solo yesterday and today. Laborer tomorrow (now over tonsillitis).
Rigged three limbs down, too.

Pretty relaxing, really. Quiet, no coordination with guys, just planning, time to tumble ideas in my head. Lots of rope and machine work. Probably a grapple truck for logs and brush. The speedline lined stuff right up for the mini to grab. A fair bit of work, but what's new. I'm quite practiced at being lazy about it all, putting in the least overall work, like standing in one place and tossing branches into a neat pile for the machine, super minimzing any dragging or wasted effort, making the rope and gravity work together, undercutting COG to avoid wasting time and effort with pull lines.

Its an HOA entrance, so I'm keeping everything in the rough area, and keeping the mowed area clear. Been busy with multiple things, including 2.5 weeks straight with the kiddo, and a pre-scheduled job for a day. Foliage and sun and heat dries the limbs out quickly over a couple days. Limbs are definitely lighter. A fair bit of the needle will slough off from handling stay onsite, in the rough, I bet, where I chip or grapple it out. My chipper hasn't had a feed bar for a long, long time, so the mini can feed a lot, if I ask it nicely.

Putting in a shorter, more intense blast of work suits me. Works out with the customer, too.

Nearly done on this job, taking lots of pics for the new website and the Facebook site, need to up my 21st century media presence.

Moving wood roadside, putting the chip on the paths and splitting some of it up.
