The Official Work Pictures Thread

I am so glad my old man moved south when I was a baby. I have only experienced working in sub freezing temps a handful of times in my life and it is not something I would ever want to do again.

The pain of cold hands and feet sucks. Good on you for getting out of the tree. MB is right...that tree is not going anywhere!

Oh it’s going to the chip and tub grinding pile! Mother Nature is just prolonging it’s agony. Warmer temps tomorrow so I’ll get it brushed out and down to bucket reach. Did I mention that our estimator is crapping himself since I told him four days. He had two on it including stumps and restoration. I just laughed and said I’d do my best. It seems very few have a clue when large wood in tight areas come about. Glad my one guy knows how to set up some mechanical advantage for the groundies and thanks to Paul we have these great communication systems to be able to talk to each other.

Some fodder from todays events. Couple of live oaks. Second one I got to bomb so long as I got out there and cut small. First one had to rig out from over the roof. But bomb small to keep it away from wires.
HO love pics, so sharing with ya... LOL

Beautiful area Stephen, our forests don't thicken up till about 5,000ft,looks about the same there. Where exactly u at again? Madera?Mariposa?

Rich!!! I'm sorry brother.... that's some tight, cold, possibly underbid bullshit! Idk how you do it,the fingers just get sooo dang cold. Props sir.

He posted that they are putting wide cookies into a tiny dropzone for the last 40'. IINM.

He's been upon the spar in spurs.

Maybe the driveway isn't accessible. I've had plenty that I can barely turn a truck around in. Right between two houses, so it shouldn't be far from a driveway.

Clearly, Rich's boss make a bunch of revenue, and presumably a chunk of profit. Must do things right most times.

Easy fir. Dang slick, wet metal roof. Couldn't maintain my position without the log. Roof anchors, people!! Put in roof anchors when you have a steep roof (relative to the material).

Lots of stuff beneath. That whole open area below the tree is a rose garden.

Wedges on the vertical log and stack of rounds lifted the trunk off the roof.

I had to flip the stump back in the hole. Grabbed the fence, but I think the faucet survived.
I saw one cut root, shallow rooting from a high water table, and root rot.
Homeowner is in Hawaii, presently. Says he wants the area around the house to look like Arizona after this happened.

In case anyone else has forgotten, a mini works much better when you bring the key. Hour round-trip. Took the chipper home, drove my car back. Did the mini work.
Trained Firle on yarding logs with the mini.

Access sucks. Room for a bucket truck but it takes up the only spot to move at all and even then I’ll be bumper to the garage and back of the truck at the curb. I’m thawing out again.

Tough one Rich.
Nice work on that Sean. Sux when ya forget the keys. I've taken to spares in each truck. Even Mike has a couple in case.
Sam, I am in Mariposa. Hard to tell from that picture, but the Telegraph fire came right up to that little valley. The more recent Detwiler is 180* from this shot. Came to right over the hill maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile of this place.

I don't understand why anybody would ever remove a key from a chipper or mini loader. But then I don't generally leave equipment on a job unattended, either. IMO if it is at the yard, on a trailer or on a job there is no reason for the key to be anywhere except in the ignition. The only thing you accomplish by removing the key is slowing down the next person who needs to use it. On my chipper the key has a small wire tying it to the chipper in case it falls out of the switch.
