I would hate working a tree like that solo... Kudos man...
Tall skinny stick for me today.. Wire all over in the last four foot of it.
Katy lowered the brush and top while Rob chipped. Katy had to take Lilly to her dance rehearsal..
Then Rob and I did the stick till I could fell it..
"Last couple are from a white Pine removal in a courtyard. All brush had to be drug through the hallway out to the chipper. Couldn't believe we fit the grinder through the doorway either."
72 main boom, swing jib to 105..... Pull stinger to 130?
Truthfully most times we swing jib. Best part of crane is short wheel base and all wheel steer. We turned that crane around at the end of the drive....Austin powers style but no boom truck would have gotten in there....one of the craziest driveways around here. Those pics show the set up....I was to skewered to take pics coming in and out of the steep shit
With a crane if you have the width to get to where they will sit, and the boom can make the turns, you are good to go. I have seen them have a problem leaving the job do to bad ground. It can really get into some work trying to get them out.
I'm not sure what you mean John? No boom truck would've gotten in/out of that driveway? Or just it wouldn't have reached the trees anyways?
I've got a bid in on another decent sized crane job here. I doubt I'll get it though, I bet I'm the only one that mentions that they have to sign off on the driveway even though me and the other two bids(I was told there were two other bidders) will use the same crane company.
I just love when a crane can be used. Quite uncommon here unfortunately.
