The Official Work Pictures Thread

Great shots, Reg. Cool looking cabin there, any interesting stories to go along with the resident there? Are they gonna get lumber from that tree? Do folks burn a lot of cedar and d. fir firewood out there cuz there is so much of it?

Andrey, are there many other guys with lift trucks in your area? Do you always have a lot of work?

Do you have to be careful not to break sidewalks etc, or are some cracks in the pavement and sidewalks acceptable from the tree work?

Very nice work Reg and Andrey!!! nice pics

I removed 9 trees today but only had a chance to get pics of this live oak, just removing back and side weight then felling it away from garage...climbed one more live oak then fell the other 7... from Eucs to liquidambars ect....good day and beat the rain woo hoo

Today a 70'ish twin stemmed monterey cypress that took a lightening strike to one lead on friday night. Blew the innards over a 100' radius from matchsticks to 6' long splinters. The clients are keen to retain the remaining stem, so we'll keep an eye on it. First decent climb of the year 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg 7.jpg 8.jpg 9.jpg

Great pics everybody. Here is a silver maple from the last two days. Removed all the mulch (of which there was alot!). Left hand stem was hollow, with a family of squirells, one parent dead and cold.??

Some of my worst nightmares involve my truck being dragged backwards progressively faster and being flung through the air after losing a tug of war with a big leaner.

Which is why I like to tie off the front bumper securely to a tree before using my winch on back to pull big Leaners my way. If they're big enough I'll put the pulley in the tree and use mechanical advantaged two part line to make dang sure my nightmares never come true!

Jomo

I'd hope you have a very sturdy front bumper if you're putting that much faith in it to hold a 6000lb truck plus the weight of the tree you'd be pulling lol.

G I hitch on the front mate.

Lets me get pushy with chippers in tight quarters.

But I have had the rear wheels off the ground before pullin over fat leaning eucs. Tied off to a tree in front, line anchored to a tree beside me, pulley in the tree, 12K warner winch in back pullin with 24K worth of pull. Solo. Only got paid 3 bills for puttin on the ground. Had a fairly serious lean over an old senior couples house, whose son spent six months cuttin n cleaning up the mess!

I'm quite admittedly sentimentally attached to my 1984 Orwellian Toy tooltruck obviously. Or my nightmares wouldn't always be centered on it gettin totaled, with me gasping awake to consciousness!

Rolled, flung around, burnt, squished, the whole nine yards!

Tree cutting maniacs is right!! A slew of pictures!

Andrey...when you use a hacksaw to break into a fence like that you CANNOT stand around and pose for the camera!!! They might catch you!!

(funny stuff...fine pictures)

Whats was happening at the base of those stumps? The base of the root flare was freshly scarred all around the bottom?

The resident was nice enough. She maybe interesting too but I didnt get to find out. I think they'll try and do something with the log but its not good access.

I wish we had more nice cedar in the interior. Beautiful wood. Best kindling, pretty hot to burn straight though. You can warp a stove with it if you're not careful.

Lousy access? Perfect spot to bust out the Alaskan mill.

Cory, doug fir is considered a primo firewood here in BC. Right up there with Larch and birch. I'm burning fir in two stoves as I type this.

Chunked this down to the 10 foot mark today. HO is going to carve a bear out of it.
Was left as this stick for years. Felt somewhat sound. But just to be sure, TIP in the pondo at 85 feet and rigging at 75....
Some over the 1000# weight chunks.... :) IMG_20140325_105728.jpg IMG_20140325_111023.jpg IMG_20140325_111651.jpg IMG_20140325_111744.jpg IMG_20140325_114043.jpg IMG_20140325_114053.jpg IMG_20140325_114239.jpg IMG_20140325_121007.jpg

This last one is just for Stig... :D

Little Plane tree trim yesterday.

Climbed all day.

Absolutely worn out today, luckily work cancelled.
