He's peeling bark ... either to set a wedge in solid word or to check the quality of the hinge wood, IMO.

I know it's done on Redwoods and such, I didn't know it was done on pines. It looked like he cut 3 or 4 feet.

Oh man, that is friggin' EPIC. I love his bravado, balls and style. I want to meet this guy. We would get on.
