The Official Random Video Thread!

I deleted all of my messages because of a message density complaint and so I decided that arguing over such utter nonsense was less important than not cluttering up this forum for everyone else.. I realize that I am going to pollute this forum with this one additional message, but I deleted five, so I'd say we're plus four on the efficacy scale.

If nobody cares to understand my legitimate views, then I will simply erase my views from existence and share them with people who respect my comprehension of reality. Sorry that your messages lack context now...but also not sorry. =-D

I got tired of it about 3 weeks ago and put him on ignore.
I'm assuming "ignore" just means you don't get notifications when I post versus an outright block. This is based on the fact that you wouldn't have known I were even involved had you blocked me. Honestly, I would encourage everyone to ignore my posts if my confusing posting style doesn't agree with you, to deter the constant notifications you will inevitably receive for when I post, edit, re-edit, re-re-edit, delete, re-post. I have a habit of being a compulsive editor and on statistically rare days like yesterday, I might find myself perturbed and prepared to go down with a fight.

But I get it. My fight isn't your fight and you are absolutely not obligated to waste any of your time following up on text or email alerts just because a fight found me/I found a fight. So in order to promote a happy environment on this forum, and to reduce unnecessary notifications that will just leave you also perturbed, I encourage anyone and everyone who was affected by my personal drama to...ignore me. Not in the sense that you don't give me any of your attention at a time of your choosing; I'm asking that you set your account to desist from producing a notification so long as I am involved.

You'll still see my messages when you return to any given thread, picking up where you left off, except you won't be disturbed and taken away from the things that matter the most to you, expecting something that isn't drama.

Great idea, @stig

I know you weren't trying to be helpful, but the prettiest of plants often grow out from manure. It's the cycle of life.

Unless someone else mentions the nonsense last night, I will not speak another utterance about it.

EDIT: And no, stig, it was just a metaphor. I was not saying your words were shit. I agreed with you.

@CurSedVoyce This is what I was getting.

Screenshot 2023-10-01 at 18-56-08 The Official Random Video Thread!.png

Searched for it but it only shows up on Tubi, but not available. Strange considering how many there are here.

Just turned my VPN on and it shows now, and on Tubi. Guess I was distracted. #-o Thanks, still out of my price range unless Al gives in and sells me his. I'll watch it tonight.

Usually it doesn't even show the member at all unless you click the show ignored posts link at the bottom of the page. If an ignored post is the last post, and it was relatively recent, then it shows the member like in your picture.
Oh, so that's unfortunate. I misunderstood how ignore works. I've never used it, so I'm not exactly well rehearsed on that setting. If people want to cancel me, then that's their prerogative. I absolutely promise you that I will lose no amount of sleep over being ignored on this forum by people that already never interacted with me in the first place...or by anyone else for that matter.

Now please enjoy this video of a Mexican man who doesn't like using blast shields.

No. Ignore is different than canceling. To cancel you, we would have to effectively ruin your on line presence in its entirety. Iggy button is less harsh
I have only ignored one person on this forum, I believe, since 08? or 09. I'd have to look me up. So I must be somewhat tolerant.
I have effectively ignored certain folks posts though. Certain vids too. Just scroll past.
Murphy comes to mind.
I did temporarily from time to time place him on ignore. Just temporary. Till he misbehaved again . Then I push da button.

This device looks...interesting. I have plenty of gear that I can use for MA on a limb walk and I'm not really sold on the other uses. Also, when he says he tied a "VT," it's actually just a "Valdotain." A loosely tied "Valdotain" has the potential to become a "French Prusik," but his looked pretty tight.

Looks cool for srt limb walk returns. I don’t know, currently I just muscle my way back in. If I did 3 trims a week maybe worth the investment.

I think I figured out why the YT video downloader does the multiplexing and takes longer to download some videos. Apparently YT only keeps united the audio and video of some video qualities. I'm not sure why, maybe it is based on what quality most people use, and based on what YT thinks should be available based on the channel history and kind of content. So, on most video quality options the video and audio are separate files.

Here's a list of available formats from the last video you linked. Note that most are separate audio/video...

Steve Wozniak supports "Right to repair". That's great!

At the start of the vid Wozniak address's "Louis" Louis Rosmann. Whom is a long, long time advocate of Right to Repair. Anything: cell phones, farm combines and even your refrigerator.

You buy a device, but the manufacture controls what you do with it there after. If said device needs repairs or software upgrades you can not do it yourself or hire the work privately. And the cost of repair by the manufacture often exceeds the cost of a new item.

It's a big issue. And hat's off to Steve Wozniak.
