The Official Random Video Thread!

I didn't watch the video, but a single tree is still a forest. A very small forest, but it does just about everything 1k ac does, just a bit less so.

No, a single tree is not a forest. A single tree is a single tree. A forest is a whole lot of trees. But I do get what you meant. Nevertheless, terminology is important.

We do "reforestation" here. Trees have to be planted to make up for houses going into subdivisions. Some plots of land also get trees planted for tax credits. Not too many of these "forests" meet the forest standard in most people's minds. You should be able to get lost in a stereotypical forest. A single tree provides habitat, prevents erosion, and creates oxygen. It's a forest with a ~20' radius. It does exactly everything 1000 trees do by 0.1%

See, what I'm saying is the terminology isn't particularly important. Is 100ac a forest? If so, what do you call 1,000ac? how about 100,000ac? If 100ac is a forest, 1,000 has be something else, and 100,000 something else again. Reforestation is planting trees of any number. Might not sound right calling a single tree a forest, but if it's doing the work of a forest, then it can only be a forest.

Well, when the woman of the year is a man, and record-high government spending is reducing the national debt, and a brain dead geriatric compulsive liar gets 81 million votes, then I suppose a single tree can be a forest. Sure, why not?

A forest has a size sufficient to make its own climat and maintain a whole ecosystem with a myriad of species in an average equilibrium. A wild wood lot can begin to give an idea of the concept, but a tree is just a tree, like a few yards island is a "land" in the middle of the sea.

Nope.

Nice, very nice.

In reference to previous post. Butch would surely bawl me out for posting a previous post.

The 12 year old saved our reputation! We do seem to be, as a country, more self focused than most other regions of the world. Still, to not get the location of your own country on the world map?!?!

If you have troubles reading, there are specialists.

When you're you have troubles with math and science, you're ok, move along.
Seems geography is similar.

Certainly not the whole sample.

It's amazing that people want to be on screen enough to let it be so because they are so undereducated.

I'm sure it was edited to be a dummy clip, but even a single person not being able to identify *any* country is appalling, and I believe it.
