I just found out that there are welding videos on YouTube that are video'ed through cameras. You can see what is actually happening. Interesting for someone who has never worn a welding mask to look at it up close.
Yup, although I think watching someone in person is the best way. Then they can watch you and point out what you need to do. Here's one of how we do pipelines (kinda...this guy wouldn't make it here but the video is good). Not really a fan of the bro vibe these guys got, but it's a good video. He puts in a good bead, but is dropping arc too much on the cap to pass in the real world. He also is running circles, which the old timer teaching me would always say "don't be one of those non welding circle fuckers" lol
