I haven't had a beer since Christmas, what with my flue. No desire to put any alcohol in my body whatsoever.

You won't be able to brew anything beyond pilsner strength, then.

I just brewed an Imperial Russian Stout that's a bit over 9% that's in conformity with the German Purity (you spelled it better than I could, Jim) law. Picked up a hair of contamination somehow in the secondary fermentation... gave it a nasty sour taste. I'm still sluggen em down though. :|:

Cool thread Jed! Farmhouse ales are damn good although I've never had a homebrewed one. I buy tank 7 from boulevard in Kansas a lot, one of the best beers I've tried. Cheers.

Sorry I'm no help in this area. I'm gonna stand by my Busch Light. I can't brew it for the price. Once in a while I hang out with my uncle Jim. Even less often is uncle Jack. And maybe once a year we all go turkey hunting. Not a home brew so it prolly don't belong in this thread, but that is a triple shot that'll put hair on your chest and burn it back off.

Dude... Bass was brewed on the dark side of the stinkin MOON. NOBODY has a clue what's in that stuff. One of the best brews ever made imho.

Rich: A ton of sense in that... never turn yer nose up at something you can't cook up yourself.

Aright Levi: I'm gonna take a pic or two and then post up the brewing instructions when I give this Fence Stretcher Farmhouse Ale a second run. I barely got any of the first 50 bottles, cause my Dad and Tim drank most of it. Really good, but, more importantly, (for me, that is) SUPER easy. Works out to about 65 cents per 12oz bottle. Deal with THAT, Rich.

Now that makes sense to me Jed. Saving money always works in my book. On my west coast tour in 20?? I'm gonna have to stop by the Jed brewery for a sample while checking out some hinge porn:)

Still doing any brewing Jed? I just attempted making a new England style IPA, orange juicy citrus hopped thing. Came out ok, but a bit too malty for my taste

What do you mean no more Bass? A quick search doesn't say it's gone, but it has been licensed around, so who knows if it tastes right. @BeerGeek could probably recommend you an easy to find replacement.

Was brewed under license here , now no ... when I started drinking them they were a true import brewed in jolly old England. Recipe was tinkered with as the British ones were better but still my choice.

I haven't had it since it only came from Britain, but I liked Bass as a summer beer. The one I miss is a rogue batch(es)(I assume) of Murphys draught I used to get at a bar in Baltimore. Tasted like burnt currants. This was before good beer was ubiquitous, so you had to travel for it. It tasted like that for about a year, and then went to the regular flavor, which was still good, but what you'd expect from a draught stout.
