What's next?

Now that zig-zag thingy looks pretty darn good, but the proof always comes down to actually using these new devices. There's always some limitations.

Can't help but see a close similarity in the way friction is achieved. So much like the uni-cender.

Can it be improved further??? Or is it just reinventing the wheel?

After running on the ZigZag for two days and having used the Uni for about 4 years, they are night and day. ZigZag is a VT hitch on your best day and the Uni is multifunctional (single and doubled rope). Both great tools. I'm soon going to have to get a bigger basement...lol

The zig zag is not an improvement over the unicender, in my opinion. The unicender can be used for SRT and can be loaded mid-line. The Zig Zag cannot do either of those things.

Be careful running the zig zag. A few ppl at the expo noticed that it flattens the rope, and puts two noticeable edges or ridges on it, kinda like a piece of webbing. Two major rope manufacturers were looking at it and said its most likely only cosmetic, but they were concerned about it. The first bend is what was flattening it out so severely, and it seemed that where the rope was now wider than what it normally is it could possibly rub on the connecting links of the rollers. The other concern with it was if the rope was dirty at all what that would do to the connecting links if a dirty rope were run through it.
