Spur Pads

Kinda. so are those leather sleeves at the top of the shanks? Never have seen those before. Mine are metal

Been thinking about buying some of those pads instead of the caddies... I am liking the feedback.. A guy that works for PG&E told the same thing about the angle of them.. Wack but highly comfortable and effective on support. I have the same tip guards too.. I am about 50/50 on those.. Does not take much to spring them off the gaff...

iv'e had my pads for over a year and when im on my spurs for 10 hours a day 5 days a week those pads make it feel like cotton balls compared to other pads

The metal's still there, they are exactly the same, only the leather has changed. You can interchange the two together, no problemo.

And I agree, Jose.

I've got these pads on my spurs too and like 'em a little better than the caddies. The felted wool does not break down over time like the foam does, they have 2 straps around the calf muscle instead of just 1, and they can be custom fitted by bending the steel insert to the shape of your leg. The only downside to them is they are a little heavier and result in odd square-shaped sweat stains.

I tried many different types of pads. Always went back to non steel velcros, which are the best for ME. I don't intend to experiment anymore.
