Grossman's version of "Mississippi blues" is hard to beat

Unless you like electric better than acoustic, then Johnny Winter is your man

Thanks for posting those, Stig. I've always liked JW, even when he used to dress up like Tinkerbell with tats and was a raucous rocker. A great version there, I hadn't heard it before.

And don't forget his brother.

Johnny Winter has also done a lot for bluesmen that weren't in the best of economic straights later on in their careers. I think it was in particular, Muddy Waters, that he helped once again bring to the public's eye through more selfless efforts. Paying back some of his inspiration....

While I'm on a roll here, let me post this.
Lots of guitarists have tried their hand at Scott Joplin's " The entertainer".

Stephan Grossman does a nice version, but nothing comes close to this IMO.

Nice one, Jay.

But if it is going to be Irish, I'm a Pogues man, myself.

I couldn't find a good version of their take on Whisky in the jar, so you get "Dirty old town" instead:)

Here is a little J.S Bach in an unusual version:

More Sissel Kyrkjebø:
She sang Nordahl Grieg's "Til ungdommen" ,a pacifist song, at the memorial concert for those killed at the Utøya massacre.
And did it well IMO.
