I hope that is a compliment?
It seems to stem from my anti-social youth. Growing up on a lawn mower with headphones 10-12 hours a day, not getting along with my dad etc. It was my means of escapism. I go WAY out of my way to find the odd and obscure.

Hah! I was in my 40s before I started exploring different genres of music. I was too cheap as a youth, I only listened to what was on the local rock station. 30 years later they are still playing the same songs every single day.

I'd go to the music store and buy the "punch out's" they had for sale. Tapes and records for like $1 each, the records had a hole punched in the liner, the tapes had a hole drilled into one corner. I had no idea what was on them, didn't care, it HAD to be better than the crap I was being spoon fed off the top forty station, and different than the rock station would play.
I was VERY fortunate, we had a pretty liberal rock station here back in the day, they'd play the normal crap, but throw out stuff you never saw coming!

Music: Some are happy to accept what they are given. Some have advisors to suggest things, and some will boldly go and seek out brave new music. I spend 25% of my time seeking out new music. I don't listen to day time radio as it plays common denominator music, designed not to offend. So I use the internet, subscribe to podcasts and record label release notifications. I have no idea what's been going on in Andy's ears, but at least he has a volume.
After Food Clothes Shelter and my family, music is the next most important thing to me. Just above gravity and oxygen.

I'm not a big fan of Lady Gaga, most of her music seems pretentious, like she's thumbing her nose at us "little people", it really kind of pisses me off to be honest. It's like Ke$sha with talent and money throwing both away to make a social stand about something stupid.
There is some of that in this song, but something about it makes me appreciate it, and maybe even her, a bit more than the normal crap she puts out.
