There has been nothing but hype for the last year or longer about the new 555xp and 562xp. There's been enough hype I was ready to start looking for a 562xp and sell my 046!
The 555 hit the market and seems to be a hit, people are really loving it.
The 562 comes out and less than a handful made it into customers hands but are instantly recalled. Neither dealers or distributors seem to know the real deal, one side says it's EPA paper work, another says it's the ignition coil and yet another version is there is a problem with the piston and cylinder from a vendor.
I've got no idea, but after all the hype of this saw as well as the time they've been telling us about it, you'd think they could have it figured out! Seems like the 575xp legacy lives on with the new Husky saws!
It really sucks, but with continuous issues like this it makes me want to take Husky off of my buy list!

I love old Huskies, I do not however like the newer electroluxes!

Husky bought itself back, Elux is out of it now, that's the bigger part of my fear, they have control now and this is as good as it gets?

Too bad... I love our 460. Bad ass lil biatch.
I have run through 3 455s in 6 years. Probably could still go out to the shed and make 1 out of them with a set of rings.
The older Sthils are my favorites though.. Easy for me to tinker on as well. :)
They'll probably get it sorted out Andy... Couple of years of loss of profit will fix that.

This is very wrong! Elux did a smart move and renamed the green side to Husqvarna. Management, board and company ownership has not changed other than the name of the stock. Elux is still in control just as before. No money changed hands, nothing changed other than name.
Husqvarna and what it stood for and did is dead.

560 I have tested, it is sold here. 555 will be here after Christmas i think. 562 will not be available here.

The X-Torq engines will not last, it runs too hot. But they sell so who cares!
The amount of money spent on this engine type is unbelievable. And it is not done yet... 5-10 more years... Lots of saws and models, disappointed buyers and warranty a la extreme. I doubt they will make it.
I said when they started this will just be a money pit and stick buy it until the get a good saw that will hold up better than the ones they are to replace.
Husqvarna/Elux stated in 2009 report that they would put more effort on consumer grade products and less in pro. This has been proven true!
Jonsered would be a memory in pro products after 2011. We will see how this turn out...

Big corp thinking killed Homelite, almost did the same with Solo and Partner.
I don't like the way Elux Husqvarna is today, I like it better as it was in 70's 80's before Elux thinking infected it.
Thinking was very different then. Today it is all about company reports, units sold and marginals. Short term thinking.

If you refer to Elux/HVA, I doubt it. If it does not produce enough profit it is just a marketing value and will be shut down. It has been clearly stated many times the past 20 years.
They make more profit on consumer grade saws sold as Partner/Poulan/McChulloch etc and "no namers".

If one part of company isn't working it is gone. It is Elux best quality. They make money. Very good marketing and good marginals.

It seems the UK guys are having a lot of troubles with the 560xp. Missing in the cut, hard to start once warm, dont have the equipment to do proper diagnostics on puter type chainsaws, so changing out chips and still not fixing the problems etc. I would bet whatever is going wrong with them is why the 562 was recalled before it pissed a bunch of us off over here too.

555 is not on the recall and it dont have that new rev boost. Hmmmmmmmmm bet there is something to that too :P

Interesting Magnus! Sawtroll tries to sell that Husky is it's own entity now, I Googled and found you are right, sorry about that!
And yes Kevin, the 555 doesn't have the revboost feature.

Saw troll can believe what he wish. I would like it to be true as most others, but it is not and will not be.
Husqvarna as it was is gone and can not be resurrected any more than a tree can after it is cut and timbered in to houses.

The rev boost in these 560 saws is a combination of changes in fuel and ignition systems.
It will not help torque, just acceleration, likely in expense of torque or some other thing...

Configuration of a engine is a constant discussion of compromises.
When developed they configure it for a purpose, like limbing, felling or a compromise between the two.
In combination with porting this can turn two saws of same engine to act completely different.

I knew it was for limbing ever since I had read about it as a prototype. Some info straight from husky.

The new RevBoost™ feature makes de-limbing more efficient.

RevBoost™ provide instant high chain speed for extra efficient de-limbing.

My 346 seems finicky on high rpm. Revs off idle great. I tached it with a friends tach last time I worked it hard and it ran good after I adjusted it. Seems like it needs adjusting again. It is very hard to do by ear. Guess I have to buy a tach.

I have the same tach as you, Kevin. The one from Amicks is a good one, but with or in spite of the fast refresh rate, the readings tend to fluctuate a lot. You can get a general idea of what the rpms are, and sometimes or lesser so, the reading will be right around a specific number, but I find a tach is problematical for exactitude for the fluctuating reason if you are shooting for a specific number. I have been unable to find out if the rpms are really fluctuating so much, or it's the tach? Using my ear with or without the tach works better for me.

I haven't tried the tach by attaching the wires instead of just the impulses from the plug holding it close. Are the readings more stable?

sad, i like husky, and most my fleet is orange, thats why i stay with 346 455 372 and 390, i do have a husky top handle climber, but im looking at 132 stihls for replacements

the new 353? or 352 is a tuned down version of the 346....rips , id buy another
