Yah that strap is a great idea, I hate having to share one of the handles on my ramrod when we need to double up the odd time.

When you takin delivery, Andy?

:P

Just got off the phone with him, nice guy! He said the pumps are a bit hard to find, and REALLY pricey throught Thomas ($1k or better) and it's not a track machine.
He is going to send me some pics, probably Monday, and thinks he has a used grapple he might sell reasonably priced.
I like everything but the no tracks part. I was likeing the idea of floatation on that soft ground. It might work fine though, I don't know?

haha, im sure you could with that! but it would be a good way to pull with out getting stuck

The pump is hard to find? It's a 2 section pump with an SAE A pattern and a 9 spline 5/8" shaft. When it comes time to replace mine I'll be going with a single section pump. As is, one section is half the size of the other, and nearly ALL the time I have it set so the large section feeds the drive/loader/aux on the boom while the small section does nothing as I hardly ever use the other aux hydros.

That did take all of 3 minutes to find for $105.99. Sure I'll lose my second circuit of aux hydros, but I'll increase everything else's speed by 50%, which is just NICE :)

The wheel motors are Parkers. fwiw.

If you can walk on the ground without needing rubber boots, you shouldn't have much trouble. I've never had mine stuck to the point I had to use something else to pull me out, only a sheet of plywood. I have needed something else to roll the machine back over on it's tires a few times.

The only really wet job I've done, the mini got in and out where the full size skid steer (1500lb cap bobcat on tires) got stuck twice and had to be pulled out with a truck.

He said it was a bear to find the parts, as they are Italian, and a new pump from Thomas was pricey. He did say other options were out there and a conversion was doable.

TnT and others that own them and feel free to chime in Carl: I ran into a guy today that seems to think these Thomas loaders are problomatic? He seemed to think there were a lot of problems with them breaking down freuqantly?
He thought the price was more than fair, and me being mechanicly inclined I should be alright, but it makes one have second thoughts!

Yeah, mine tears up all the time considering it has 430 hours on it and it's been rolled/laid over about once for each full finger you have.

There's nothing complicated about them. That does remind me I do have a crack in the male side of the quick connect plate, but it's been there for a few months and hasn't spread. I just haven't remembered to weld it up.

The only other thing is back when I first got it one I welded washers on the ends of 2 pins in it's wrist. They went stupid and put E clips on the pins instead of bolts. Never had a problem.

Another point to ponder is the fact that the machine has 1k hours on it. Dave's former company had 30-40 employees. If it wasn't WAS (worth a ;)) do you think he'd suffer with it?

That pix is 4~5 years old, old hanger on the BMG. These little Gs are great for treework. Landscapers would get a rock in the chain and break it. the first GT traks had problems snapping the torque motors. circa 04's have the newer larger ones. Other than that mine have given me little problems couple solenoid issues, couple 1" arm bolts broke Tilt pins ware out. I think digging would tear them up. I have 4 old ones and they all still work . . . slow but they still lift. Our new boxer runs circles around the G
