Sometimes when the groundie is standing a long ways from the port-a-wrap there is enough weight of the rope hanging between him and the port-a-wrap to stop things when he intends to let it run. I think that's what my guys do anyway.

Have them walk the line to the porty instead of feeding it out of their hands, it works better.

It's OK to mention a porty now 
Been using three strand with one, and one wrap seems to cover a lot of territory when you need instant run, with the ability to quickly stop it too. I haven't used it on any real big loads yet though.
