I've got caddies, if you want to try them tomorrow. The ones you posted above are apparently the best though. I would buy them myself when I upgrade.

Brendon, go for it. If you don't like them then I'll buy them off you for what you paid for them. I'd like a pair for my gaffs but haven't bothered since I almost never climb any more.

Hey Eric,
The offer I made to Brendon also extends to you as well. Buy those shin cup pads from Wesspur and if you don't like them then I'll buy them from you. You can't lose. :)

That's a tempting offer but I don't think I will be getting anymore gear for a little while here. I just entered about $1k worth of repair/maintenance bills as well as almost $1k of bills for our Xmas party into Quickbooks. I need to take it easy to make sure the savings holds out through winter.

Sorry, that was a pretty weak joke. I was reading elsewhere about hacks who prune with spikes on. I just had that on my mind. As far as speed goes, I would probably drive most of you crazy with how slow I spike trees. I am good in that I can get everywhere I need to be and I don't really kick out, but I am just slow compared to most.

These are the ones I thought were going to be my choice. Plus the price is nice.

Brendon, last year, I went asking "which pads", too. I finally replaced my badly worn out L-pads with the type in your link (different brand). There's an interesting advantage to those pads that's not often talked about. You can actually bend them to fit your shin perfectly. I don't think you can do that with caddy pads. I don't need to very often but now, I can stand in them all day. Just thought that might be good to know and might help with your decision.

Nope.

Some brands of caddies come in a regular profile and a narrow profile. Even my little slender built wife doesn't fit the narrows...I can't imagine anyone who would, really.

I am pretty skinny and I was GOING to buy caddies but I bought the climbrites instead. I would have gotten the narrows and I am REALLY glad I didn't now!
