I need new pads for my aluminum bashlins. I have velcros now but they are falling apart and rotate on my leg.

Any suggestions. I'd like to keep it simple too.

Whatever you get, make sure they are angled

I like these better than caddies. Way less bulky and the caddies aren't angled.

Like many things, it is surely a matter of opinion. Un-angled cadillac pads on Bashlin spurs are the heighth of comfort, to me...well, next to my CF geckos :).

Just get the cheap L shaped single strap pads that rub your legs raw, spin halfway around your shins, and push into the shin bones so hard that you want to do a peter pan out of the tree.

Did your velcro pads have the cinch strap or just the wrap pad? We have both and I think the cinch pads are much more secure and comfortable than the wrap pads. I would take either over the L pads but I would love to try the Caddie pads.

I had bashlines before with the super wrap pads. Just recently bought the distel geckos from honeybros for about 320 after tax/shipping and I can stand in the tree 4 hours without even thinking about the spikes. The super pads after about an hour my legs were hurtin...

My Velcros cinch tight the opposite way. The seems are ripping apart, and they rotate so bad. They are my originals, over 5 years old, like my saddle. I need to upgrade I think, or at least re-new. :|:

Eric, looks can be deceiving. I'm going to agree with Butch and Stephen. The shin cup style pads were the most comfortable pads I ever used. The Caddies were ok but I hated the bulk as well as how they fell off the gaffs every time I hung up my gear in the truck. I've used everything from the basic leather pads up to two different styles of velcro wrap pads and the shin cups were by far my favorite.

I'm up for new pads now myself. I have the big fluffy t pads. They suck. Butch has a good point. Whatever pad you have, cinch em down. A wrap with the foot strap around the leg iron itself helps keeps them in place a little bit too.
