New Saddle On The Market

That will go hand in hand with a 750.00 tophandle saw, lifeline at 1.25 per foot, 30.00 biners, 150.00 for a helmet. and I'll bet the hourly rate for a climber goes up .10, hell maybe even .15 cents.

Think how cool it will be, the average climber will have a 6-8 weeks wages tied up in a basic kit. Cool.8)

Ha! that day isnt that far off, I paid 1.09 a foot for Yale XTC, $90 for my petzl helmet, about $25 to $35 for biners...CDN funds to boot. :(

I did, I have plenty enough for now. I was shopping at PAS, Fraser Valley Equipment and Arrow.

You have a secret supplier? :shifty:

I am thinking it would be fun to make a saddle combining the durability of the cougar with the advantages of the treeflex (nubby back pad, leg riser straps). Also with the bridge hardware and bridge of the treemotion. And the 'D' rings from the butterfly 11.

Sure would get expensive to tear apart those saddles tho, so I have not done it.

One point I noticed with the new buckingham saddle is the removable back pad .

I have all the parts except for the bridge hardware from the treemotion.

Anyone have a worn out treemotion for sale that I could cut up?
:)

Never overlook New Tribe's offerings, people. Never.

Just my 2 cents.
:D

Thanks Burnham :) My new tribe is still ticking along just fine after years of use.
I don't think any other saddle manufacturer can say that except for the old style lineman's saddles

I have the Tengu and if you are down the the center tie-in, they are killer saddles. I payed less than $200 for mine last year. Now they are just above $200. Well worth the money. Best SRT saddle I could imagine.

That's why I cant begin to think about purchasing one of these new saddles. My new tribe just seems to be built like a tank looks wise compared to the new ones. Although I don't climb "full" time, 3 years later its looking great. Feels nice too.

Right you are Brendan, built real stout but still well on the lightweight end of the scale, beats many of the fancy new jobs by well over a pound.

I am not sure where the $589 price came from. Sherrill quoted me less than that and I bought one for $489.I will report back after I have enjoyed(I hope) a prolonged seat in it.

589 is what I was quoted by Sherrill. Before my discount that is.

Saw a saddle at the trade show last week, not sure if its been talked about here yet. Apparently designed by an ergonomics expert along with a tree person. Ergovation. Supposedly the big thing is going to be the personalized pads / shims that will be made available for customizing.

Well I'll be ding-danged!:|:

I spent about an hour getting edumacated on the ergo yesterday. I was definately impressed. Its almost completely modular, three legstrap options one regular, one hard cups (like the kolibri), and another that can be molded to the leg (like a mouthguard), there is also a batten attachment. The fixed attachment point for SRT can be attached a number of ways, and can be adjusted heightwise for a good fit. There are at least five (maybe seven) bridge options. Two styles of suspenders H+Y. Gear loops can be moved around, and I'm probably forgetting a bunch of other things.

The absolute best thing about it is that it is a full body fall arrest harness with sternal and dorsal attachments.

I was skeptical at first, but this is a slick harness!

OTG, cool, I didnt get the schooling you did on the saddle, it does sound useful for a pro climber.
