more mini notches

I have LOL'd all the way through this thread.

Didn't watch the vid... from what I have gathered in the past "vid threads" there's nothin' to learn on it...

Unless I was some Youtube ego stroker...

Well I've made " mini " notches myself but it was with a mini Mac on many mini trees or so it seems .Too many "minis' " to keep track of .Mini Mac,mini skid loader ,Minnie Mouse .

There are Youtube ego strokers and then there are Arboristsite ego strokers.
I don't know if I prefer one to the other.

That bar looks like a 7 footer .Lawdy it would take a box of files and a 12 pack to file that thing-----not to mention a small crane just to pick it up .

... one time we walked into the sawshop , there was a large powerhead with a long bar.sitting on the floor ... owned by the largest local mill , they use it to true up the ends of the stickered piles , seems like the fit into the kiln dryer has to be exactly right .... I picked it up by the wrap handle , CLUNK ! , that heavy nose weight was not what I was used to ... amazing that when you West coasters run'em it looks like the balance is a lot better

With a very long bar, is there some trick to starting the cut without a bow in it? I normally cut a little notch for the tip when starting the cut, then walk the bar into the tree, but I'm thinking there must be another way.

I am still waiting to see a diagram or a pic of the "Noodle Notch"!
