OK Ill start.

1.jpg 2.jpg

This is how I roll in a tree, yellow bag holds 20' lanyard, keeps it tidy

1.jpg I always carry this steel snap, great to weight a rope to throw. Other than that I dont like to carry to much junk.....

Nothing fancy here.

That'll work, Butch. The suspenders are a good feature. Though I never used them much, but what little I did I know.

Production climbing belts for arborists have come a long ways over the years. A far cry better than what I started out on.

and that's why I started making my own belts early on. It wasn't until 2003 that I ever bought a production climbing belt.

Can anybody here guess what belt it was?

Whatever it was, if it ever goes on the auction block, there will be collectors out there that will want to fight for it.

It's a New Tribe Ness. Only running one lanyard right now.

My grandson took He-man away from me...:what:

I will take a pic of my saddle in the next day or two. No gadgets on mine. A silky, an accessory bag, and a spare biner. I take NO extra gear with me. I have a groundman send any extras up as needed and the minute I'm done with them I call headache and drop that stuff back down. I'm not knocking anyone that carries gear. I think that's cool. But me, I go raw dog in the tree.

How long does the tape on your rolling carabiner last, Butch? I make leather traps for mine, which last about a month or so. The leather gets sweaty and winds up hanging something and tearing loose at one end. I used electrical tape a while back when the leather broke. It lasted a couple of weeks. I've got some really thick leather that I'm gong to try making a trap from. Also thought of trying some webbing for the trap.

What kind of tape is it? Gotta be good stuff to last a year. I like your idea of zip-ties on the loops. That's one of my biggest gripes with the Weavers. One of the leather loops on my old Weaver broke after only about a month of use. I replaced it with a big zip-tie, but if something got against it, it would close up so tight the strap wouldn't go into it.

It's so seldom I get in a tree any more I don't have a real climbing harness .I use a fall arrest harness which if nothing else provides a method to tie myself off so I don't break my neck falling out of a tree .

It's tough tape, nowadays I use Gorilla duct tape.

You've gotta super glue the zip ties to keep them from closing further.

here's mine love this setup had a treemotion for about six months but sold it and went back to the petzl art

edge with some caritools. I usually keep an extra biner and a sling. I just put a ditty bag on the left side last week and so far I like it

Adam, how do you like that Edge??? Ive been curious about it for a while but am still getting on fine with my 5-6 year old Sequai

Paul I've been pretty happy with it. One of the things I like most is that it has this elastic velcro girdle thing for your waist. You put that on then fasten the buckle. The girdle thing kinda supports your abs and pulls the back against your lower back. It's not much pressure but it feels good. Maybe I'm just a fatass and I secretly feel like it's just holding my gut in... hmm that could be it too :)

Other pros are that it's well made and shows no signs of major wear anywhere.

Cons: The bridge on the original edge f'n suck. It's webbing with cordura over it and whatever you use on it gets kinda hung up on the corners of the bridge. So when you're leaning way over and you go to come back your saddle initially doesn't then you get a pop and it's good. Sherrill has a new stiched whatever their name is for tachyon bridge that looks like it's short and probably sucks too.

If I was going to get another (and I would) I'd get the ergolite from treestuff with the warpspeed bridge or the one at wesspur that has a double rigging plate setup. I'll probably liger mine eventually and run a 16 strand bridge.

I usually climb heavy. I dont carry all of this gear but I do carry lots of it. With it just being me and my partner, I dont always have someone on the ground to send stuff up to me so I just keep it on me. New Tribe all the way!!!!
