First off, I have no experience with injection capsules. I have a customer with several young hemlocks with hwa. Im planning on treating them with Imicide. I have my trunk measurements and a material list. However, Mauget's website says to use an 11/64 drill bit, except in conifers. I'm waiting for a call back from the tech specialist at the company, to find out what I'm suspposed to use. What have any of you used? Have any of you treated hwa without spraying?

Drill deeper then 1/4 inch under the bark. Sink it in a few inches and use and 3/8s bit.

The area of best uptake is deeper into the tree, and because of the softer, spongier wood, an oversized bit will yield a hole of the correct size when all is said and done.
