Gord, another nice vid of what you called a balsam fir..... I'm wondering if it's really a grand, as the PNW is its zone, but the balsam's zone is the east and extends barely into Alberta....

Also, I'm getting fuzzy, but didn't we meet at the Victoria TCC event in 2005?

It's like he just cut a kerf with no face all the way around to just rip all of the sapwood off of the rotten guts of the tree. Must have had an obvious lean.

Yes we met at the TCC Roger. That tree would be Abies amabilis - locally all are true firs are called balsam, I go along with it. There is an undercut in it, didn't do much!
