Ever ride a Segway?

They travel slower that bikes, in general. You can run about as fast as a Segway can go...the footprint of a Segway is really about the same as a pedestrian, bicycles are much larger and far less manueverable.

alot of places get pissy about them. The ultra liberal town of Sebastopol CA. does not want them on the pedestrian pathways because they are so silent that they scare folks.
Weirdos in that town.

I had the best time on TnT's at TCIA. Up and down stairs. They are awesome indeed.
Dave, said some other companies were making them under a different name for alot less $. Dont remember the brand name tho.

Dave's is the off road model. He hopped with it up some stairs on a plaza. I drove it down some stairs after he showed me how. you kind of take one at a time real slow.

You have to be quite cautious on stairs or when negotiating curbs. Down is not too hard to learn, but you have to take them straight on, no angle of approach or you will crash and burn. Up is definitely an advanced skill...I didn't even try it...

I'd agree about the no dui on a Segway...if your sense of balance were impaired even a little, it could get dicey fast .

I've never ridden one, but a cousin was involved in programming the original. Said there were a few crash and burns in testing.

Just tired.... It was cool, easy to learn. I just didn't want to spend to much time on it. To keep the wanting to buy one urge away.

In MN it is classified as a "Personal Transportation Device" as long as it doesnt exceed 12mph it is legal anywhere you can walk. Its classed like the little sit down chairs at cub. I drove it into cub grabbed a loaf of bread and buzzed through the auto cashier. people kind of freaked.
