Fuse seems like the least good idea as when it blows you need a new one. Unless its a back up to the isolator

I once saw a hydraulic tilt machinery trailer that the guy just used a "hot line " connection which ran off the truck's battery .

All it actually was was two number 6 welding leads with a quick connect fitting .

I was thinking about doing that. I didn't want the trailer tied to one vehicle. Now with the gooseneck hitch it pretty much is anyway.

Well I decided to build a ramp into the front of the trailer for the dingo. Got that started today. Replaced the back posts with something heavy enough for doors. Started building the chain/pump/battery box.

Wow, good find Dave! I will check with him next week if he has more. I haven't ordered a cylinder yet so i'm a bit free to adapt if shipping isn't bad. I'd need to put in another cross member on the frame...

What would be the cost difference between building one yourself and buying a used one?

Are you thinking about puting racks on the side for the forks on the toro dingo?

Buying stuff retail and making a plain jane dump trailer? Not that great. Getting deals on the material and making it custom in the off season could be worth it.

Willie cheated and had a "starter" kit :P.

I think it would hardly be worth it from scratch unless you had material on hand

Finally cool enough and a slow enough day to work on my trailer a bit

Ah you are putting the mini in the dump bed, just side load. I had the impression that you were making a small deck to carry the mini, while being loaded. Keep up the work Willie always good to see a project come together....

That was my first idea Dave, then I decided it loads and unloads easy enough that it would be dumb to lose the capacity when I may need it

Been slowly getting the gaps filled in. Not yet sold on my latch, if I go with it I may put a short chain on the other side with a dog leash snap to secure it. First one that can guess where the latch came from wins a free hat:)
