Well I was delighted to be behind the times yesterday & got to climb on the zig-zag.

In brief it's a mechanical VT - grabs reliably, tends like a lock-jack & is very smooth on descent. I'm very impressed by my initial findings & will post something more detailed & substantial after I have worked on it a bit longer

Hahaha - no chance - srt & me are not friends. I have a hitch-hiker that I seldom use. Short wide trees don't make for easy climbing on it

Seems like $400-ish for a DdRt/ SRT combo device is silly. I think that for a bit over 1/3 that price. shipped, you can have a HH with no changeover, and more compact, which works when choking a spar. I imagine the ZZ/ RW combo can't be leaned back against when on a spar very effectively.

Best SRT setup I have used.Left the Zigzag and Wrench on a Spar outside in minus temps,the Rope Froze up but the Zigzag and Wrench still worked.

Excellent purchase and I won´t be going back to a VT.
