Here is the oregon info I looked up.

I was thinking it could replace the corded in the barn cutter. But not for the $399 retail asking price. (don't know about the batts and charger included in price or not)

Product Features

* Powerful 40-volt battery-operated chainsaw with tough 14-inch bar
* Long-lasting standard lithium-ion battery pack provides no-fade power
* Powers through logs as large as 10 to 12 inches; instant trigger-pull start
* Trims up to 125 2- to 3-inch branches on single charge; built-in chain sharpening system
* 60-minute charging time; weighs 9.5 pounds (with guide bar, chain, and battery)

Says comes with batt for that price. http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=...x=garden&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325

That Husky video is one of the worst I've ever seen. Never got a good look at the saw.

I'm all for an electric cordless saw. Anything new is expensive at first. Only 15 yrs ago a good plasma TV cost $20,000. Around the same time I paid about $5,000 for a computer that could do hardly anything compared to my current $199 phone. The saw price will come down, and it will get better.

I use my Husky corded electric a lot. Not practical as a climbing saw, but I sure never wonder if it's going to start. Cuts as good as my gas saws and doesn't have that chainsaw sound (when I want to be discreet). Almost all my small tools now are cordless, drills, sawzall, etc.

Just a matter of time.

Nick, FWIW when I talked to a Stihl rep a few months ago about the electric saw he was showing, he said the batteries were planned for about 1000 charge and deplete cycles, in case you are figuring out cost to operate vs saw gas.

Oregon is going to send me a Powernow chainsaw to demo and a powersharp system in 3/8LP to try on a small saw.

Al I only get it for 30 days so I will let you know. Cant wait to cut concrete and see how it sharpens back.

Ha! I've heard and used them all.

But it's when the gravesides happen, all noise must cease. Respect.

I do quite a bit of work in the city cemetery. No complaints ever from the residents.

Got to play touchy-feely with the Stihl battery saw yesterday. It wasnt bad until you put the battery in....
Dealer didn't have it priced, maybe he's embarrassed.

Guy I know that works for Stihl dealer in Canada said. = We sent a Stihl MSA 160 out to the power company to test. They like it. Been in their hands for a month. They are going to buy it on Friday. Not cheap here. Saw, charger, battery and belt is $963.85.

I've hung out in a tree more than once (at the VA) waiting for a ceremony to get over with. 'Snot so bad.

Ha! Try it hovering around the freezing point with a sweat on, and the graveyard guy said we had to shut it down for an hour. I wasn't hanging out for that long.

Was talking with the powernow rep and he said there is a top handle version in the works. The CS250 demo has been shipped.

I may of over done it with the cutting the brick test. Tested in spruce and bar on powernow was 14", so however big that wood was I forgot to measure.

I couldnt get the chains to cut like they did new but they still cut after the resharpen. Will say they both cut a nice groove in the brick too.

Thanks for posting.

Do you think that saw will hold up? The sound of it is like things pretty severe are going on inside.

Did it come with a cautionary about 'noise' interference when making a vid? :D
