Good question ,probabley not though .From what I gather they were intended to allow the engines to run at a lesser power level if the filter starts to clog ,else the things would run a tad rich otherwise . Most likely an EPA mandated item concerning emissions I would assume .

This I find somewhat surprising because the intended end user for this saw is professional usage .It would therefore make sense that a pro could certainly tell if they had a plugged filter one should think .

I haven't used my old new one so much yet, but it doesn't seem to show the filter loading up so readily.

Ha my pair of super bee 200's don't get enough usage to foul the filters .I like those little rascals though .
