Are there any other versions of the Stihl MS 201 besides the following-
Stihl MS 201 T
Stihl MS 201 TC
Is the Stihl 201TC-M a user modified Stihl MS 201 TC? Or are there three different versions of the 201 T?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

T = Top handle, and I believe that was a first gen without Mtronic that isn't made(for the US) anymore.
C = Comfort. Means it has antivibe. Not sure why it's particularly specified anymore. That's a standard feature.
M = Mtronic. The carb is computer controlled, and has no adjustment. It's the standard release.

I believe any that has the "C" mark on the recoil will also be Mtronic.

edit:
BTW, Welcome!

The current produced in-tree/climbing saw from Stihl is the MS 201TC-M (the M means M-Tronic, electronic emission control, a disaster of a system on smaller saws when something goes wrong on it). These have been available since about 2013 There were a few years of just the 201 T (2012-2013 I think; 2 generations; the 1st was garbage, the 2nd was supposedly much better, but the the M models replaced it).

The emission controls were a result of the Obama EPA. Old timers still swear by the previous model MS 200Ts, and many wish the 201 had never been made.

Any older members, feel free to correct any of the timelines/details above.
