I love those long time prognoses. They are no more accurate than basing a weather forecast on what you read in the intestines of a pigeon. Maybe that is what they do.

Southern part of the country is still locked up tight by snow. Most of the people who had to celebrate x-mas in schools shelters and firestations because they were stupid enough to drive somewhere despite being warned not to, are returning home. Only reason i can get my car out of my 1/4 mile...

Two days of thaw. Almost all the snow is gone and now it has turned to hard frost again. Should make it much easier to get around in the woods and hopefully the ground will freeze hard up during the week. We have some large oaks and beech to fall and that sure goes easier on frozen ground.

That would be 15 degrees above comfortable for a Floridian, Brian. Working in that would kill your average Dane really fast;)

Snow and lots of it. The southern part of the country has been totally snowed in for 3 days. We didn't get quite that much, but it still makes the old homestead look nice.

We've had the exact same weather today, Stephen. Slushy snow and fog! I stayed at home. For the first time in 1½ months I didn't have to go to work. We're finally getting on top of things, it seems.

It's been perfect all week. Clear blue sky, no wind and cool dry air. The leaves are just starting to turn colored ( they are late this year). In short, perfect logging weather!

Hey, we refuse to adopt the euro too! At least you guys drive on the right side of the road. That left side driving is really confusing. Not so much when you are in a car, where the steering wheel is placed in the "wrong" side too, but when I worked in New Zealand, I got up real early one...

My parents came by today with a new outdoor thermometer for me, This one has both celsius and fahrenheit on the scale, so I don't have to do the whole conversion thing anymore, to talk to you'all, great. It is precisely 40 degrees Fahrenheit outside here, and something like semi-congealed water...
