Yes, Universe is a brutal place and we are doomed since the day it started. It is a constant changing thing that we still don't understand and perhaps never will fully understand.
That is the fun part of it!
We are pretty small and totally insignificant in the big scene. Like a oxygen molecule in atmosphere here.

I saw the fireball that landed in 2001 in PA. I was riding my 4 wheeler. It looked big enough that you could have heard it and I guess you could. It broke windows in PA.

I remember my dad waking me up late at night back around '66 to go outside and see a meteor shower. It was pretty unbelievable -hundreds of them shooting across the sky. Never seen anything like that ever again.
