Why this site is cool

I log on and the first 3 new posts I see are, Need protein ideas, Are we a strong nation, and Twitter, I dont get it. They struck me as diverse, potentially interesting topics, typical of that which you can expect to find here at TH,, alongwith, of course, all sorts of interesting in depth topics covering every aspect of treework, which is a dangerous, challenging profession that can teach you a lot about life in general.

Ballsy school teacher, was interesting too.

I was heartened to see alot of the puter xperts on here are not on the twitter bandwagon, cuz I dont get it either...

Just my 2 cents.
 
We're so cool, we don't even need to discuss our coolness, nergo.
 
This site is cool because we all come here to relax and unwind, not to try and play games or impress each other. Some sites have so many stupid rules that you must get yourself into a certain mindset in order to participate. Then that mindset just snowballs and everybody gets all wound up in playing the games. No games here, just good people who have a common love of trees. This is where we chill, so of course it's a cool place.
 
For the life of me, I can't figure out why the other tree forums don't have this vibe. I mean, when I first found AS and began posting, I loved it! I was all for it and did everything I (IMO) thought I could do to participate and perpetuate it, and my reward was getting banned. And the same thing happening again at TB just aboot blew my mind.

Without casting stones I think some site owners get caught up in their own egos . AS is a prime example .Too bad but it just evolved that way .

Here we usually can discuss and cuss and nobody really gets too uptight about it .

I imagine that on this site there are more people actually involved in tree work of one form or another than the combined total of a majority of the others .There is however a nice mix with many diverse backgrounds which makes for interesting conversation .

It's a great place. I don't care what the other sites say about the House. They're just jealous.
 
We all belong here, Shari. We are the forum. On other sites we are just visitors trying to follow along under somebody else's house rules. When we come here it's our house and we treat it with the same respect we give our own home. No need for 'moderators' to tell us how to respect our own home.
