Anyone ever get cranked up a tree with a GRCS?

I myself might politely decline doing so but someone out there has to have done it.

Oh, absolutely.

It is a fine way to go back up after lunch, as long as you have absolute trust in the person cranking.

Think of it as a poor man's Wraptor.

Since I got my GRCS, I have been pulled up several times. No Biggie. Like Stig says though be aware of your winch man.

Perfect! ;)

Good job, Nick!!! Like the notes added at the end.:thumbup:

Nice quality all around. I'm curious to know what are you using connector wise for sling to speedline? Another I have is, do you find or experience any corkscrew motion to the pieces?
I could see this for the removal you just don't wish to stress much.

Nick,
Great video, and description of technique. :goodjob:

Did you have any problems with the wood falling on the "anchor line" that the VSL was hooked onto? :?

Using a redirect to customize the position of the VSL is an excellent idea! :D
I'm gonna "borrow" that one for sure and put it in my toolbox..... ;)

A couple of the pieces bounced violently, but it wasnt due to the VSL, in fact the VSL contained it. MOst of the pieces landed with a solid thud and no bounce. In our example we are just using 1/2" slings and steel carabiners.

The rope that was used to float the target didnt experience any damage. Depending on terrain it can be best to have it laying flat although that can cause additional stress on your tether slings as well if the pieces are to long.

I am glad you guys are liking it.
