Tree Work in Detroit? (or other hard-hit cities)

parents shouting with school board members seems a lot healthier than beimg governed by a state government made up of people who would never even set foot in the city, much less care about the kids there. Their only worry is the effect on the state budget. There is noone to yell at now and i think that is the most disheartening demoralizing thing in the world.
 
Kevin, your automation link wouldn't play for me. What was the gist, automation is increasing and eliminating more and more jobs?

im a transplant. I have only been here for 16 years. Ive never had any reason to leave. I love my neighbors and as far as I can tell, they love me back. Schools are the one big question mark at the moment.
 
how is it in W. Virginia? i imagine it as pretty rough. All the drugs there and stuff. I have driven through a couple times it struck me as a pretty tough place. How are the schools there? I could not imagine raising a family there. Although im sure not all of W. virginia is like its reputation or its apearance from the highway. probably a lot like detroit.
 
It was an interesting statement in the vid about Detroit when it was a prosperous city. A man could get a job in a factory and make a decent living to raise a family, without having a higher education. I'm not sure if that should be considered a right or a gift, but to people that struggle to make ends meet, how long term wonderful such opportunity is. Especially seeing what the situation is now...
 
yeah thats true, like coal mining in W Virginia, you dont need to be able to read to work the line, but your still making the company a lot of money with your time... or was. that era seems to be gone. whats left but to get your disability and get high.

This part of wv isn't like what you may have seen Kevin, actually this county probably carries the rest of the state. Number one in growth I think. We're part of the greater D.C./Baltimore metropolitan area. Everything west of here though is typical WV. Lots of transplants from other areas.

How far are from Franklin? Ive been to the CMI factory a couple of times. that is a nice little town one to think of it.
 
Cory it's simply commerce. Funnelling money out of the public funds into private hands for profit.
