I am headed out Saturday night to pick up a piece of equipment.

I'm driving my dads truck, not commercial.

Do I need to stop at weigh stations or anything on the main highway (I-95)?

I always thought you don't, as it's not for hire, personal use only. You don't see mini vans with trailers at weigh stations, so I'm guessing no.

Anyone have an experience in that field?

Fuggetaboutit. Enjoy your trip, weigh stations are for commercial vehicles (over 26,000 lbs) and transporters of citrus, livestock, produce, etc.

Watch the signs, some say vehicles over 16,000 pounds or 20,000 pounds must stop
