Stephen, nice pics and job. I presume that is a water tank in the pics, but not sure, we don't have stuff like that here, can you splain some about that big round tank?

Cory, That is a water storage tank that fills from the well. We are now required to have 2500 gallon tanks for fire fighting water tenders. This is a smaller tank that was placed prior to the new codes. They also have to have a 2" valve and male adapter for a fire hose on them. Your water then goes to a pressure pump and tank that feeds the house. Could have felled the tree had that tank and the well plumbing not been there.

Due to the lean of the last bit of stick, I put a guy line 90* to the lay to help keep her to the top of the slope. Other line is a pull line on a Massdam almost 250 feet out. (only thing we could find to hook to instead of a picket set up). Then I butt tied the log to keep the butt from drifting.

Yes Butch, not all at once. Two pieces from that point with another block above for one then back to that block. After doing it I think it would have taken it in one shot but fear and common sense prevailed

It was below me by 10 ft max and maybe 12 ft out. I had a better (higher) spot but the way of the lean from the branches I could not assure that when I rigged it out it would not catch my climb line. Figured a swing would be far better.

We only have about 12 acres. 120 would be a tad overwhelming... 12 is easily manageable
