Not posted in this thread for a while. Climbed and dismantled a decent sized spruce today. Had Haakon out with us helping in the ground.

Surprisingly sound timber as at that size they are often decayed round these parts.

The squeals on the last clip were because the land dropped away towards a cabin. One of the lumps I knocked off rolled that way and wedged in between the trees and was a bigger to cut up. Hence the delight after we built a little father’s mitt to keep the log off the floor and rolling sideways.
