The Official Work Pictures Thread

Great pictures Willie, looks like the smoke cleared up quite a bit.

Hollow biotch! Excellent work Rajan👍

Me and "the Ogre", 2.5 way-enough afternoons of grand fir removal/ grind, and last season's maple and hemlock logs ended up ready for a Wood miser LT40 to come in a few weeks.

The bucket on the mini spread grindings and chips in part of the root zone of their remaining 150' grand fir on the edge of the grove that is mostly in the neighbor's property. That butt log is from the hemlock they lost last year. Moved it over there for chainsaw carving practice for the HO.

It is an old myth that painting the cuts helps the tree heal better, Sean.

I thought you knew that.

Thanks guys the root flair or should I say lack of was the really scary part. The HO dug around the base and found that the tree was standing on two buttress root on opposite sides and that was it.

Lurking through the city doing jobs...thank God for good parking.

Ha. There were three different "urban miners" cruising the alley for recycling minutes b4 the garbage men came through to get the rest. I saw a 32" flat screen on a pile today.

Yeah, I's talkin to YA, bro. You Do have Ficus down there, by the way, don't you??

Yea ya we got them shits, usually nothing glorious by any means, the rubber trees the furious beasts for sure. The sap on the rubber tree ruins textile gear instantly and does not care one bit about your clothing...

what used to be some little eucalyptus on an easement

Is that what you call Blue Gum Euc? Man, those hinge fibers look like they could hold the world. Always a stinkin fence in the way, eh?

Rajan: I really liked the look of that last shot... the way you so prettily laid it out on those bunk-logs. Nasty wood.

Willie: That was really beautiful. That was a pretty huge top to rope-out... evidence of some worthy groundies.

U.K. Rich: That's just so cool... the shots with your kids. A day well-spent, man. Cheers.

Gary, the face cut was logs I was roping down from over the house. The top that was on the ground was cut from the other below me. I tied the top and Cam came up halfway and cut it. You can see him below me.

Another deal from few weeks back, shitty Union on the tallest leader, pretty tight space, had irrigation valves and a quick connect at the base on the back side also

roped a few chunks of wood down but my 5/8 stable braid was getting badly glazed so ended up chunking the rest down

THAT is a lot of tree. Lots of climbing and rigging. How about a crane...looks prime for that ('course, I don't know much about cranes but couldn't that be done in a few picks?)

Hails yes, crane would have been prime. There were about 15 trees total on this one,The guy actually had the job bid for a crane but them shits are quite a bit of coin here (Rear mount stinger type would not have cut it for the other questionable trees),I told him that it was ok and we still finished ahead of schedule. That tree pictured probably would have been like 15 picks due to the awkwardness and not having a spider leg type deal.

Awesome job, Sam!

I never was a fan of spider legs.

Never really needed them. I usually stand it up or secure the butt, make the cut, then untie.

Nice pictures, blue skies.

I'll always chunk down wherever possible.

Get the groundy to arrange the first few as barriers or crash pads.

Ya thnx guys, just another day in the office!
I usually stand it up or secure the butt, make the cut, then untie.
That's right, the stand up trick,i was impressed with the examples you've shared on that. The butt tie is also an excellent idea. Imma have to do my best to remember these!👍
Get the groundy to arrange the first few as barriers or crash pads.

😁 that's exactly what i had em do with the sections I roped! You got it💪
(My rope would have been trash if I kept going the way i was)
That plastic chunk slider from August' thread look great, imma get that me thinks.
