Went to home site clearing job. Holy Moly can alders lean hard. These are remnant forest trees, and they are tall, as alders go.

One standing dead ripped out the front of the stump...

I'll haul logs in a week or two. Somehow one Arbor Trolley wheel is missing. Needed to confirm with log buyer about lengths, too.

Dang those mini's are rad.

Yeah, she stopped by on another job we were doing and asked,
Do you have a card and will you prune my trees? super Bristish accent. Great House, too.

Work leads to work. If they like what they see, they want it.

I been getting in with a few General Contractors here in SF, So much farking money in the city. Trees are rare and as well as finding a true tree professional as well.

Yeah, they're beauty trees. Justin, I've not done these before, but posted other chinese elm pics I'm sure.

Neighbourhood calls this the radioactive tree
Well, it was a dead pondo on a road that had to go. HO opted for us to take it down rather than the County guys. County was going to close the road etc and we have permission to work on four adjoining properties. Thus, we could zip line all the brush and flop two sections away from the road ;) HO's wanted minimal damage to surrounding trees and such.
Nichelle got to learn a simple zip set up and Rob moved and burned the slash 1000 feet away through a live stock gate onto the other property.
We also almost completed two of these in the day. #2 was wayyyyyy brushy
Three buzzards were circling Stig, you would have been amused.
Tree had pine rust gall and stood for years. 36" at 4' with a cat face and a fence.
Fodder

Rolled up to take down a big burley spruce a while back and the competition was setting up in the neighbors big american elm. Took this pic as we were bullshitting back and forth with each other. fine.jpg

No shit. I have taken down a bunch of big spruce trees in that neighborhood. I had been eyeballing that elm tree for a while and was gonna offer to prune it while I was next door. I show up that morning and some other guys were setting lines in the elm. I knew who they were, I had just never shook hands with them. I took lunch on a back yard bench with my dog and ate a burrito and watched some one else climb for a change. Picked up a cool new trick by watching. They were hanging their 200's on a branch close to the trunk and then work the tips with their Silky. There is always something new to learn in the tree biz if ya just keep an open mind.

I do it a lot when rigging and using a bigger saw. It's just extra wieght to drag out if I'm tip tying or setting spider legs.

I've never done it once, but my saddle does have suspenders with padded shoulders. I guess I just don't feel the weight.

It comes in handy frequently when setting choker for a crane pic, leave saw near base of limb, choke, return to butt of limb and cut.

I do it all the time on long limb walks that I just don't need the saw for. If I can do it with the handsaw, no point in dragging a 200 out there. Just extra weight. I have suspenders as well and it takes a lot of weight off my saddle ... but still. Up in the tops as well. If I am working tips, it is just one more thing catching on crap.
Cool when you can climb next to someone. Love the kibbitz that volleys between the trees. :)
